Since his 2001 emergence, the Rome-based singer-songwriter has been blurring the lines of performance, too, mixing singing with acting and composing for radio and the stage. With an elastic voice that lends itself to intimacy or expressive barks with equal verve, the genre-hopping folk-pop artist takes in orchestral arrangements and refined synth-pop as well as raw acoustic ballads—but always with rhythm at the core of his sound.
