Sensitive singer/songwriter Newton Faulkner can get up close and personal with his tales of woe. Mostly, though, he keeps it light and breezy, with lilting mid-tempo pop rock that has a vaguely reggae feel. The acoustic guitar and some percussion—often on the guitar—are pleasing. Yet Faulkner's voice is warm, passionate and very dynamic—that's the reason these songs stick.
