A widely acclaimed songwriter, pianist and producer, Michel Berger the singer didn't have the mass appeal of his star collaborators. A low-key presence on the mic, he gave ample space for his inspirational compositions and playing to shine, alternating fluid piano melodies with prog rock quirks and pure '80s synth. It's that gentle voice, though, that makes his ballads so beautifully immersive.
