NICKTHEREAL’s short but sweet 2019 EP WHAT A LIFE—featuring the mumble-rap hit “i GO”—quickly announced the artist as a new force in Taiwanese rap. To celebrate a stellar year—and in anticipation of an even greater 2020—NICKTHEREAL, aka Nick Chou, created this hip-hop and R&B playlist for Lunar New Year. “These are the songs I listen to all the time,” he tells Apple Music. “I just want to share good music and introduce it to everyone.” When it comes to holiday memories, “I think of the warm feeling that comes with having the whole family under one roof,” says Chou. “On New Year’s Eve, everyone gathers for the reunion dinner, and as tradition has it, we stay up as late as we can…for longevity!” “In 2019, I was my truest self,” he says, with an eye towards the future. “In 2020, I’ll continue to rise and bring everyone new surprises.
