As Moloko, Irish singer Róisín Murphy and English producer Mark Brydon were one of the first trip-hop acts to hit the mainstream after the pioneering success of Massive Attack and Portishead. Over the course of four albums, they transformed into one of the most adventurous dance duos, blending together house, jazz, drum 'n' bass, and rock. Murphy parlayed the duo's success into a solo career with Ruby Blue, developing her own eclectic sound with the help of Matthew Herbert. Her second album, Overpowered, cemented her status as one of the decade's most idiosyncratic pop divas.
