One of the initially shortest-lived yet highly influential post-punk bands, Mission of Burma formed in Boston in 1979. Releasing just one EP, one LP, and one live album of harsh guitar, heart-pounding rhythms, melodic bass, peculiar tape loops, and impassioned vocals proved enough to make them legends before disbanding in '83 due to guitarist Roger Miller's worsening tinnitus. After a spate of reunion shows in 2002, the band reformed and have since wowed fans both old and new with albums and live performances exhibiting the same unique creative vision they displayed in the '80s.
