Why did I apologise for how I looked today

Why did I cover my eyes and hide my face away

Why did I notice the extra weight that I've put on

And think it's bad thing

Why did I stay up all night getting rid of all my hair

Til I'm slick and polished, dressed in pretty underwear

I don't think I did it for me and I don't think that's fair

It's all so overbearing

Yesterday I left the house wondering what others thought of me

If I'm honest with myself I do that quite a lot
