Comprising husband-and-wife duo Mario and Sarah Quintero with drummer Chris Enriquez, Spotlights conjure dense, monolithic atmospheres rooted in doom-laden post-metal and shoegaze. Originating in N.Y.C. and based in Pittsburgh, the trio introduced listeners to their spacious, metallic soundscapes in 2016 with Tidals. The band soon found themselves signed to Ipecac, which released Seismic in 2017. 2019's full-length Love & Decay dabbled in ambient and Krautrock textures, while the trio touched on themes of death and the afterlife on 2023's immersive Alchemy for the Dead.
