The '90s may go down in the rock n' roll history books as the decade of alternative rock, but many would agree that adult-oriented roots rock came in a solid second place, with the success of such artists as the Black Crowes, Sheryl Crow, the Wallflowers, Wilco, and Shawn Mullins. Mullins hit it big with his spoken/sung "Lullaby." He draws his influences from several notable singer/songwriters (chiefly Bob Dylan and Neil Young), painting interesting pictures of everyday life as lived by ordinary people.
