Künstler-Biographie
A down-home country singer with a pronounced twang and an open debt to Jason Aldean, not to mention bro-country crooners like Luke Bryan and Thomas Rhett, Conner Sweet made his mainstream debut in 2020 with the sentimental rallying call "Times Like These."
Born and raised in Hendersonville, a Tennessee town just outside of Nashville, Sweet grew up on country music, listening to the classics alongside modern hitmakers. He started playing guitar as he entered his adolescence in the early 2010s, beginning to write his own songs when he was 16, the same age he started cutting his teeth playing clubs on lower Broadway in Nashville. Sweet put one of his early tunes, the country-pop good-time anthem "Young and Dumb," online in 2014, and he continued to release digital songs through 2018's "Nashville Dream," but he didn't land a publishing deal until 2019. Alongside the publishing deal came a contract with Given's recording branch. Given Records put out Sweet's debut single, "Times Like These" -- a ballad written in the wake of the devastating Nashville tornadoes of March 2020 -- in the summer of 2020. ~ Stephen Thomas Erlewine
