Künstler-Biographie
Moody Beaches' post-punk referencing grunge first burst onto the Melbourne underground scene via their live shows in 2017, before hooking up with local label Poison City for their 2018 debut.
Formed by Anna Lienhop (vocals, guitar), Jessie Dennis (bass), and Julia Watt (drums) -- who had all played in previous Melbourne-based bands including Hot Wings and La Bastard -- the trio took their cue from early-'90s alternative rock, drawing influence from the likes of the Breeders, Bikini Kill, and L7. Becoming regulars on the fertile underground scene in Melbourne, it wasn't long before the group was snapped up by local label Poison City Records. Recording with Matt Chow (Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever, Bench Press), the trio delivered their debut LP, Weird Friends, for the label in August 2018 before heading out on a national tour in support. ~ Rich Wilson
