A downtempo illbient duo influenced by hip hop as well as new wave, the Controls were formed by vocalist Ann Colville and producer Mike Delaney (Dub-L). After meeting in 1996, the pair began making music and signed to Sm:)e Communications. The Controls' debut album One Hundred was released in 1999. ~ John Bush
