• Formed in Plainfield, New Jersey, Total scored an audition with Diddy in the early ’90s after a chance encounter with the mother of his godson, who later became their manager.
• Total were one of the first acts signed to Diddy’s Bad Boy Records in 1993 alongside The Notorious B.I.G. and Craig Mack.
• In 1994, Total made their first appearances by providing guest vocals on “Juicy” and “One More Chance,” from The Notorious B.I.G.’s debut album, Ready to Die.
