ORESKABAND's roaring brass section and irrepressibly youthful energy have earned them a place of pride in Japan's ska scene. Formed in Osaka in 2003, this all-female outfit straddles the line between good-natured grooves and in-your-face aggression, all sweetened by iCas' giddy vocals and spiked with joyful blasts of sax and trombone. Throughout the ‘00s they embraced energetic thumpers built for the pit, but in recent years jazzy piano riffs and tight basslines have ushered in an upbeat pop sensibility, deftly transporting them from the basement to the beach.
