Since unloading his debut project in 2012, he’s collaborated with fellow Chicagoans like Chance the Rapper (“Everybody’s Something,” “Angels”) and Noname (“Shadow Man”) for songs that can range from reflective to celebratory. His work has helped carve out a space for a new generation of thoughtful lyricists who grew up on the sounds of Lupe Fiasco and Kanye West.
