Born in Japan and raised in the U.S., bilingual singer/songwriter and pianist Emi Meyer takes cues from both sides of the Pacific. Her jazz sensibilities merged with adventurous songwriting to produce her 2007 debut album Curious Creature, making waves with a smattering of smooth jazz, R&B, folk and pop balladry. Emi's creamy vocals rejuvenate popular standards like “Smile” or “Fly Me to the Moon”, while her more ambitious work boasts elements of bossa nova and reggae, gifted new life when delivered entirely in Japanese.
