Having grown up in a musical family and been raised on ’90s icons like Billy Ray Cyrus and Garth Brooks, Tasmanian brothers Tom and Nick Wolfe are well-versed in the ways of country. But since coming in second place on Australia’s Got Talent back in 2012, The Wolfe Brothers’ sound has evolved from their debut album It’s On in 2013 right up to 2018’s Country Heart. This means they’re at home with traditional country, like on “The Girl, The Bottle, The Memory,” but they’re also not afraid to experiment with more modern pop and rock sounds, like on “No Sad Song,” which has shades of Maroon 5, or “No Brakes” with its disco-like opening riff. And, of course, there are stadium sing-alongs in abundance, like “One Beer at a Time,” where The Wolfe Brothers channel The Pogues for the 21st century.
