“'I Want You Back' was the first Motown song I ever heard,” Kem says. “I was a toddler—too young to know exactly what it was or what it would eventually mean to me, I just knew that it made me feel good.” The Nashville-born, Detroit-raised singer would grow up to pay that feeling forward as a Motown artist himself.
