As the creative force behind Venezuelan band Adolescent's Orquesta, Porfi Baloa became a major figure in salsa music. After writing and arranging the group's songs in addition to playing piano and sometimes singing, Baloa was extremely well-equipped to begin his solo career in 2010. His new band, Porfi Baloa y sus Adolescentes, proved to be just as effective an outlet for Baloa's talents.
