Now, as the Colombian rapper and singer continues to build her solo discography, her follow-up to 2022’s En Letra de Otro has a broad view of a musical diaspora, taking cues from, and making fresh iterations out of, an expansive set of sounds. As a result of this veritable wanderlust, Pantera overflows with messages and vibes that represent artistic growth beyond her hip-hop origins. Drawing inspiration from African genres past and present, she channels Fela Kuti on the emotionally emancipatory “QSV” and with Afrowave practitioner Afro B on “Diana.” Elsewhere, she expresses the awe-inspiring power of true romantic love on the pulsating “Cuando Te Vi” and celebrates a sense of homecoming on “Volver a Verte,” the latter featuring her countryman Zaider. Other guests enhance her offering, including Greeicy on “En Tu Marea” and Fugees star Pras on the bilingual “KeRoWe.”
