Baroque violinist Gunar Letzbor emerged from the hotbeds of historical performance in his native Austria and in Germany to found his own group, Ars Antiqua Austria. He has also been active as an educator and author. With Ars Antiqua Austria and as a solo player, Letzbor has amassed a substantial recording catalog on Challenge Classics, Arcana, Accent, Pan Classics, and other labels, often covering little-known works of the Baroque. In 2025, he issued several releases, including the album Hoffmann, Schröter, Vanhal: Concerts at the Abbey of Schlägl on Challenge Classics.
