Existing in a newfound place between hardcore’s sonic onslaught and melodic pop’s more traditional pleasures, the California band A Static Lullaby exploits the best of both styles. Formed in the wake of an impromptu jam session, the young band got together in 2001 and immediately started exploring the tension between hardcore's unbridled energy and a more delicate, expressive guitar-based pop. Most of their songs possess a two-fronted vocal strategy, with full-on screams accented by pure sung choruses, creating an emotional tug-of-war that’s never meant to be easily resolved.
