Σχετικά με τον/την Case
Case, the self-titled 1996 debut from New York crooner Case Woodard, introduced a singer far more indebted to classic soul phrasing than the markedly rougher, post-new-jack-swing sound dominating R&B halfway through through the decade. Case’s relationship with hip-hop, however, became central to his biggest moments, like his breakthrough single “Touch Me Tease Me,” a speaker-rattling duet with a young Foxy Brown that also features vocal support from Mary J. Blige. Ever the collaborator, he achieved a top-10 R&B hit that crossed into the pop charts with another duet, “Faded Pictures” with Joe from the Rush Hour soundtrack. Case’s third album Open Letter carried his momentum into the new decade, cementing him as a bridge figure between new-jack-era smoothness and the collaborative, crossover-friendly R&B that would define the 2000s.
