Theater actor and singer John Owen-Jones is best known for his roles as Jean Valjean in Les Misérables and The Phantom in Andrew Lloyd Weber's Phantom of the Opera, but he also releases easy listening albums.
His debut EP, Hallelujah, arrived in 2006, but it wasn't until his eponymous debut full-length in 2009 that he started incorporating musical theater numbers. This trend continued throughout his career, including 2012's Unmasked, but by his third album, 2015's Rise, he had begun to incorporate music from other sources, including well-known hymns and Welsh songs. He continued to mine his musical background on his fourth album, 2017's Bring Him Home, named after the song from Les Misérables. His 2019 album, Spotlight, included more musical theater numbers, with the notable inclusion of "From Now On" from The Greatest Showman. ~ Liam Martin
