∙ English singer-songwriter Gabrielle Aplin first built an online following by posting acoustic covers of such artists as Katy Perry, Bob Dylan, and Ellie Goulding.
∙ In 2012, her cover of Frankie Goes to Hollywood’s “The Power of Love” appeared in a Christmas ad and subsequently caught fire, topping the UK singles chart.
∙ English Rain, her Gold-certified 2013 debut album, went to No. 2 on the UK charts and spawned another Top 10 single, “Please Don’t Say You Love Me.”
∙ After her song “Home” was used in the Brazilian telenovela Totalmente Demais, Aplin visited the country in 2016 and made a cameo appearance on the show’s final episode.
∙ A dedicated vegan, she launched her own online cooking series, #FoodWithFriends, in 2018.
∙ Aplin appeared on Reimagines the Eighties, an all-star covers album helmed by legendary producer Trevor Horn, who enlisted her to sing Bruce Springsteen’s “Dancing in the Dark.”
