Formed in 1988 upon the dissolution of Montreal hard-core band Fatal Illness, the band Grim Skunk played their first show early the following year. Combining edgy alternative rock with elements of ska, the group released their self-titled debut in 1994. By 1996, the group had started their own label, Indica Records, and further releases during the decade, including 1996' Meltdown and 1998's Fieldtrip, would be issued through this imprint. ~ Tom Demalon
