With his string of 2019 hits, British rapper Jay1 helped to put the city of Coventry on the UK hip-hop map.
• Jay1 started taking music seriously after moving to Coventry from North London in the early 2010s.
• His 2018 track “That’s My Bae” spawned a freestyle challenge and gave him his first taste of success.
• In 2019, he cracked the UK Top 20 with the singles “Your Mrs” and “Becky”. Both appear on his 2019 debut EP, One Wave.
