Louane is the stage name of French actress and singer Louane Emera (aka Anne Peichert), who is best known as a semi-finalist on the 2013 season of The Voice: la plus belle voix.
∙ She began singing at age eight and appeared on the TV singing competition L’École des stars four years later.
∙ Her popularity on The Voice inspired director Éric Lartigau to cast her in his 2014 film, La Famille Bélier, which earned her a César Award for Most Promising Actress.
∙ The anthemic electronic pop song “Jour 1” was Louane’s breakthrough hit, reaching No. 6 on France’s Top Singles chart in 2014.
∙ A charming mix of pop songs and emotional ballads, her debut album, 2015’s Chambre 12, sold nearly 2 million copies in France.
∙ In 2017, her self-titled second LP followed Chambre 12 to No. 1 on France’s Top Albums chart, and Louane guested on The Chainsmokers’ dance hit “It Won’t Kill Ya.”
∙ Joie de Vivre, her third album, debuted in the Top 10 of France’s album charts in 2020.
