A multi-instrumentalist and composer who works almost exclusively in the studio, Sven Wunder's music brings together jazz, funk, psychedelic inspirations, and orchestral instrumental pop, although his influences span everything from Middle Eastern and East Asian folk to soundtracks of the 1960s and '70s, as well. His first album, 2019's Doğu Çiçekleri, was informed by the sounds of Anatolia, while 2020's Wabi Sabi fused his trippy pop-jazz with Japanese folk. Incorporating sweeping melodies and strings, 2021's Natura Morta shifted closer to the vintage jazz instrumentals of Henry Mancini, and 2023's Late Again moved this sound into late-night hours. Two years later, the elegant Daybreak had the waking hours in mind.
