In the artist’s words:
Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. I fell in love with music as a kid. My mom used to have one of those huge CD books in her car, & on long road trips I'd explore random CD's. I was listening to everything from New Edition & Born Jamaicans, to Rachelle Ferrell & Chico Debarge.
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Bobby V, Disturbing Tha Peace Presents Bobby Valentino U.S. Album Nipsey Hussle, Victory Lap Todd Zack Jr., Appropriate Bobby V's first album serves as a master template on how to make a perfect contemporary R&B album. "Appropriate" was my first album, so it's my foundation, & Nipsey’s “Victory Lap” serves as mantra in my life as an artist.
Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Evergreen” It's the most vulnerable song I've made. I talked about everything from past issues & owning up as a man, to my therapy journey & learning about how abandonment issues over the years hinder my ability to commit in my relationships. Co-prod. it too.
What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? It's between profiting 20k from "Appropriate" in 12 months as an independent artist, or my joint project with Tyler McNeil, “You Know Where to Find Me” peaking at #3 on the iTunes R&B/Soul charts — #1 in the world independently for 72 hours.
Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? I want to be known for restoring maturity back into the genre. Worldwide reverence in that. I want to be known for my versatility & ability to elevate others via my leadership.
