I didn't expect there to be miles and miles of wheat Rolling over the hills as we came into the city The city reminds me of an island Surrounded by an ocean of gold It was hot, hot and humid in July I tried to avoid the rain by getting into a boat Touring the Sein But the windows were fogged from the people So I chose the rain I thought it might be cooling, it wasn't So I exited the boat and stopped by a corner bistro Like one in the movies I ordered a beer, the best beer I ever had Not sure if it was the beer that was so good, or It was just so hot outside The rain broke, the restaurant was picturesque People watching was great, but the food was awful There were young lovers at the Eiffel Tower Picnicking with wine and bread Such a perfect scene I returned that night to a million people having a party It was Bastille Day There was a glorious light show on the Tower Crazy memory I'll never forget The Orsay was such a surprise Monet, Manet, Van Gogh and Lautrec Such a difference form the Lourve Lifeless paintings, crowds and the Mona Lisa Though the architecture and Winged Victory Were quite spectacular More so than the city buildings All looking like on another Not sure when ill be home, wish you were here Such a perfect scene I once had a girl who traveled all over the world She'd write me every day, cause she was so far away I missed her so much, but I just couldn't ask her to stay We kissed only twice, but it was ever so nice Her lips were soft ruby red, I wanted to ask her to wed I missed her so much, but I just let her go in stead Let her go instead She told me she couldn't stay, it just had to be that way The letters stopped coming to me, from lands way over the sea The world was calling, but she wasn't falling for me Falling for me, falling for me, falling for me, falling for me Won't you fall for me
