Album · Hip-Hop · 2025
Respectively hailing from Queens and Rochester, Flee Lord and Eto represent the grimier end of New York State’s rap spectrum. Though separately they present powerful threats on the mic, something greater than the sum of its parts occurs when they operate in duo mode. For this, the third volume in their RocAmerikkka series and the first in some five years, the reunited rappers speak to the streets with knowledge of game, trading illicit verses on “Cash Conversion” and “Power.” They amp up the criminal-minded mystique on “Broken Phone Deals” and shout out their own hip-hop prowess on “The Ones That Stayed.” Several of their guests operate on like-minded waves, such as Buffalo vet Conway the Machine on “Digi scales” and Coney Island catchphrase king NEMS on “Kitchen.” One of their best collaborators ends up being from another coast altogether, as Vel Nine offers a toughened female point of view on “Zip of Badu.”
