Artist Biography
Active as both a keyboardist and leader of the Abchordis Ensemble, Andrea Buccarella is establishing himself on Italy's early music scene. He also performs as an organist. In 2018, Buccarella won first prize and the Outhere Award at the International Harpsichord Competition Musica Antiqua Bruges in Belgium. Buccarella made his recording debut in 2019 as conductor of the Abchordis Ensemble with the album Il Soffio di Partenope: Works for Woodwind Instruments from 18th Century Naples, and his solo debut, Toccata, exploring that durable Baroque genre, followed later that year. He released an album of Bach's concertos for two harpsichords with Francesco Corti and the ensemble Il Pomo d'Oro in 2022.
