About Inesa Sinkevych
Artist Biography
Born in Ukraine, Inesa Sinkevych is an Israeli pianist who resides in New York City. A student of the Kharkov Special Music School in Ukraine, she studied with Victor Makarov, and took up studies at the Rubin Academy of Music in Tel Aviv with Alexander Volkov. A scholarship from the America-Israel Cultural Foundation allowed her to study in the United States with Solomon Mikowsky, and she received her master's degree at the Chicago College of Performing Arts. She pursued further studies at the Manhattan School of Music, where she received her doctorate. A competitor with many awards to her credit, she was the winner of the 12th Arthur Rubinstein International Piano Master Competition in Tel Aviv, the Yamaha Piano-e-Competition in Minneapolis, and the Vianna da Motta International Piano Competition in Portugal.
As a concert soloist, Sinkevych has performed with the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra, the Minnesota Orchestra, the Gulbenkian Foundation Symphony Orchestra, the Gran Canaria Philharmonic Orchestra, the Porto Symphony of Portugal, and the Tenerife Symphony of the Canary Islands. As a recitalist and chamber player, she has performed in the Purcell Room at London's Queen Elizabeth Hall, Barcelona's Palau de la Musica Catalan, Hong Kong's City Hall, Lisbon's Great Hall of the Centro Cultural de Belém, Tel Aviv's Mann Auditorium, and New York's Merkin Hall. She has also been featured at the Bar Harbor Music Festival, the Dame Myra Hess Concert Series in Chicago, and played on a tour of China that included performances in Shanghai, Beijing, Shenyang, and Guangzhou. In 2005, Sinkevych joined the faculty of the Piano School of NYC.
In 2012, Sinkevych released her first CD, an album of piano works by Franz Schubert.
