Canadian duo Majid Jordan’s unique brand of synth-driven R&B earned them a spot on Drake’s OVO Sound label.
• Members Majid Al Maskati and Jordan Ullman met at a bar while they were students at the University of Toronto. They started working on music later that week.
• After anonymously releasing the single “Hold Tight” online, they dropped the 2012 EP Afterhours under the name Good People. It caught the attention of Drake’s go-to producer, Noah “40” Shebib, who signed them to OVO Sound.
• Majid Jordan went on to coproduce “Hold On, We’re Going Home” for Drake’s 2013 album Nothing Was the Same.
• In 2014, they released their official debut EP, A Place Like This. Two years later, they returned with their self-titled debut album, which went Top 10 on Billboard’s Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart.
• The group notched another Top 10 R&B placement with their 2017 sophomore album, The Space Between.
