About Danny Glover
Danny Glover is an award-winning actor, producer, and political activist. Globally renowned for his work since appearing in 1979's Escape from Alcatraz, his portrayal of Nelson Mandela in the 1987 HBO film Mandela won several Emmy nods. Glover is widely recognized for his children's recordings, too. The albums How the Leopard Got His Spots with Ladysmith Black Mambazo, Brer Rabbit and the Wonderful Tar Baby with Taj Mahal, and Brer Rabbit and Boss Lion with Dr. John all received Grammy nominations. In 2024, Glover and actress Rhodessa Jones teamed up with jazz musician and bandleader Idris Ackamoor's performing arts company Cultural Odyssey to deliver and record the performance of Artistic Being. A double-length recording of the event was released on Record Store Day in April 2025.
