Singer and rapper Jake Miller went from contest winner to multifaceted career artist.
• The Florida native’s big break came in 2011, when he won the “Kick It WIth The Band” talent competition sponsored by Samsung and T-Mobile. He soon found himself opening for artists like Mac Miller and Snoop Dogg.
• Miller’s 2013 debut album, Us Against Them, reached the Top 5 of Billboard’s Independent Albums and Top Rap Albums chart.
• He later signed to Warner Bros and released the 2014 EP Dazed and Confused. The single “First Flight Home” made Billboard’s Mainstream Top 40 chart.
• After parting ways with Warner Bros., he taught himself piano, started making his own beats, and self-released the 2018 album Silver Lining.
