Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. At age 13, my curiosity about the old guitar my parents stored under my bed finally got the better of me. I opened it up and within minutes clumsily plucked out the bass line to Heard it Through the Grape Vine. A sudden world of possibilities...
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Neil Young, After the Gold Rush Radiohead, OK Computer Talk Talk, Laughing Stock I grew up on a steady diet of Neil Young and have only grown to love him more as I've aged. OK Computer changed everything for me. Laughing Stock was a late discovery for me, but I think it might be one of the most imaginative rock albums ever.

Tell us why you chose this song. “Return My Heart to My Chest” This song is one of the ones that came out rather quickly, took 45 minutes to write. But it's story represents the arc of my adult life, coming out of evangelical Christianity and wanting to find the courage to seek God outside my default tribe.
What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? The tour John Van Deusen & I did in the summer of 2022. It was a 4 day tour in people's backyards. The closeness, the intimacy, the long talks driving between cities, running out of gas on Dead Man's Pass in Oregon. Amazing experience.
Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? So many. First, finding a way to play Halflight with a full band - that has not yet happened. Secondly, I have always dreamed of playing to a sold out Showbox at the Market. If that happens, I'll have to find a way to hug every single person there.
