While Les Claypool's musical modus operandi tends toward the big and weird -- having blown minds and pushed the limits of what can be done with a bass guitar with bands like Primus and the Fearless Flying Frog Brigade -- Les Claypool's Duo De Twang finds the bassist taking a more stripped-down approach. A team-up with guitarist Bryan Kehoe, best known for his work with Bay area weirdos M.I.R.V., the pair set out to bring a little more twang into people's lives with their own twisted interpretation of bluegrass and country. The first outing, a mix of covers and originals titled Four Foot Shack, arrived on ATO Records in 2014. ~ Gregory Heaney
