In the artist’s words:
Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. Working with Ed Bruce having my first song land on his "Mamas Don't Let Your Babies Grow Up to be Cowboys" Album. Soon after was introduced to three guys in a band called 'Wild Country' looking for a drummer. We became the band known as 'Alabama.'
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Rick Scott, Thorns the Album Rick Scott, Twist and Turns Thorns the Album was an inspiration to co-write with my wife, Deborah and a joy to perform. Twist and Turns began with the song 'Baby I' and I continued to write about memories through life.
Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Thorns” This is a very special song, a song that makes you feel as it takes you to another place. Very inspiring. A song of reverence.
What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? Working with Johnny Cash, John calling me one morning to meet him at the studio. I arrived and to my surprise John cut two of my songs: 'Tennessee' and 'When I'm Gray' both to which I received Awards, one on John's album 'Out Among the Stars'.
Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? To continue to write, record and inspire other artists to use their gifts.
Rick Scott has also released music as a member of Alabama.
