Bristol born comedian Russell Howard's skills first came to light when the 19-year-old appeared on the Channel 4 television talent competition, So You Think You're Funny?, where he made a respectable showing, reaching the finals. From then on, Howard was a busy performer and presenter, appearing on stages and television at a near constant pace for the next 15 years. In 2006, Howard landed his own show on BBC 6 on Sundays. A standup tour of his home country was a smash success and led to a second tour in 2007. That tour, even more successful, had to be extended into 2008 due to high demand. ~ Chris True
