After Malaysian grunge/alternative rock group Butterfingers took a hiatus in 2009, lead guitarist, keyboardist and vocalist Khairil Ridzwan Anuar—also known as loQue—decided to make a foray into a new sound with monoloQue, an experimental outfit capable of traditional rock as well as exploratory, synth-driven pieces. It's loQue's distinctively monotonous drone that ties the varied genres together, and the result is a body of work that includes classic inspirations as well as a stimulating blend of original sounds.
