Lyrics

I woke up this morning with a memory of last night,
Wishing I had listened a lot more than I spoke.
Now I’m moving slow and I sure it shows but I think I’m gonna be alright.
But I can’t tell yet who got upset because they didn’t get my jokes.
But everything I said sounded good in my head
When I was wasted
Well I gotta get back to the land of of living feelin’ like the walking dead.
Praying that I’ll be forgiven for bridges that I’ve burned.
But first things first what’s hurting me worst is the freight train in my head.
And it oughta be a lesson but in truth I’m guessing not a damn thing was learned
You’d think I’d get my fill, but any chance I will,
Is probably gonna be wasted.
Wasted like words spoken tryin’ to explain.
Ties broken by a drunken touch.
Wasted all my money pourin’ whiskey down like rain,
Cause a drowning man can’t ever get too much.
Wasted. Let the party go too long,
And got wasted. That good feelin’ now is gone,
And I’ve replaced it with this old demon in my soul,
And every time I’ve fought it, it always gains control.
Yeah I lose the battle every time I face it when I get wasted.
Wasted like the efforts of the ones who tried to save me.
One by one I quickly let them down down down.
Wasted like the breath spent on warnings that you gave me,
But I was too hellbent I’d make you watch me drown.
Wasted - had two children and a wife,
But it all got wasted - let the bottle run my life.
And it replaced it with this habit I can’t break, and it’s causing me to shake,
And it’s a feeling I can’t take so I raise my glass up one more time to taste it.
That’s how it all got wasted
