Unity

As I stare into

the endless vast

Unable to progress

as if I turned to stone

I cannot move

cannot breathe

cannot see straight

I cannot think

But I can feel

I can weep

I can remember

I can break

All that we shared

is this all that is left?

Is this the end

of what we've been?

Just a memory

a reminder

of the impermanence of life?

I keep it close

to my heart

I'll keep it safe

How we altered

how we rose

what we've fought for

where we died

It's desperation

or is it guilt that smites my lungs?

I don't want to

have to shut this down

I don't want to

admit to myself

we've lost you!

Heaven knows

where I would be

if it wasn't for you

At the edge

of the world

Towards the abyss

of perception

Our unity is still
