Passing Time

There was a time back then though it seems far away

When we used to have goals to reach

Now we have a different set of debts to pay

Life turned what we wanted into what we had to do

Set straight by a turn of fate;

Is it too late to make these promises true?

Not locked out, you just can’t see in

The goals you haven’t reached can be started again

They may seem far away

It doesn’t mean they’re gone

You’ve been waiting on a sign that’s been taking too long

Time keeps passing by and you’re the only one keeping you from trying

Do you ever fight with the thought that you don’t get what it takes?

Do you ever feel your money’s spent before you even make it

Carry on they say

It’s the hardest thing for me

But I won’t let go

Is this hope I’m still holding on and won’t let go
