Coming to Terms

I want to hear him say sorry

So I can tell him I don't forgive him

I'm aware that sounds cold, I'm aware it's unfeeling

But he has escaped and it's me who's left reeling and coming to terms

I want to stop feeling pathetic

I want to talk to my family and not break down

I need to have dreams that are more than just him

I need to shed light on this darkness within

Whilst i'm coming to terms

And, of course, that's dramatic

And, of course, I don't mean it

I'm angry because he's destroyed my routine

It's unreasonable, I know

And I'm terrible, I know

And he is not coming back, I know

I get to my door and I think there's no point

In going in when he's not there

Then I walk room to room and I stare at our bed

That is too big by half because he's fucking dead

AndI 'm left coming to terms

So it's anger, it's fury, it's all that I see

He's denied me the future he promised to me

People dare to walk by me with hope in their hearts

Their empty embraces, their smiles are a part

Of the screaming inside me that won't ever stop

Because I am so angry with him

for not being here

I can't forgive him for not being here

And he is not coming back
