Best known as the percussionist for the offbeat rock group WhoMadeWho, Danish producer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist Tomas Barfod toes the line between dreamy downtempo pop and visionary electronic noodling on Glory. This compact EP showcases his skill at teasing out gripping sonic textures: The undulating throbs and quivering cymbal of “Anthroposcene,” for instance, provide a minimal, ambient counterpoint to the blissfully sluggish rhythms and breathy purr of “Used to Be,” featuring Scandinavian singer Nina Kinert’s fluttering coos.
