Who better to take over these decks, then, than Skepta—grime’s beloved philosopher king turned house music evangelist—whose mesmerizing set had the crowd moving from start to finish. His playful, often nostalgic selections—mixed with total precision—were peppered with the sort of sultry house edits that proved the distance between grime’s aggressiveness and house music’s sensual thump is much shorter than anyone imagined.
