Acerca de Robert Miles
In the mid-’90s, Robert Miles’ trance track “Children” dominated dance floors around the world, thanks to its combination of pulsating house beats, dreamy piano, and chilled-out vibes. The 1996 single reached No. 1 in multiple countries and made the Italian musician’s debut album, Dreamland, a multi-platinum global success. Born Roberto Concina in 1969, Miles learned piano as a child and later cut his teeth spinning records in clubs and as a pirate radio DJ. He followed up “Children” with a string of popular singles, including the laidback “Fable” and the tranquil “Freedom,” the latter of which featured soaring vocals from Sister Sledge’s Kathy Sledge. As his career progressed, Miles dabbled in more cinematic electro on 2001’s Organik—the harder-edged “Trance Shapes” appeared in the 2002 movie The Bourne Identity—and jazz and proggy art rock on 2011’s Th1rt3en. In 2017, Miles died at age 47 from pancreatic cancer.
