When I was a little girl, my grandfather was a square dance caller, which is where I was initially introduced to string music. “Willow” was written by my best friend in the world, Ashley McBryde. I’ve been in love with this song since she first played it for me and it was only half written. This was also the first song we tracked in the studio as this configuration. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far?

I’d love for Sister Sadie to play the Telluride Festival.
